Special Weapons and Tactics Course (SWAT) | 03/17/2025 - 03/28/2025

Must be currently employed by a law enforcement or public safety agency and either a current SWAT member or newly appointed member of a SWAT team. Department identification will be required. Students must be in very good physical condition as judged by their agency. Students will be required to pass a physical assessment test the first day. The assessment test includes: 1.5 mile run in 12 minutes or less, at least 50 sit-ups in two minutes, at least 50 push-ups in two minutes and at least ten pull-ups.

A two-week course for new members of special weapons and tactics teams. The lecture and physical exercise training includes concepts, planning, tactical operations, approach/entry/search techniques, use of chemical agents, weapons, and task replated physical activities.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
• Students shall arrive on the first day in PT gear as there will be a physical assessment at the beginning of that day.
• SWAT equipment – this includes agency uniform, ballistic helmet, vest, chemical agents protective mask, Nomex gloves and level II plates.
• Weapons – sidearm, entry weapon w/sling, shotgun w/ sling, backup rifle, backup pistol, and repair parts.
• 2 flashbangs
• 2 37mm/40 mm ferret rounds. 1 liquid, 1 powder.
• Laptop
• Physical training gear: Running shoes, shorts, t-shirt, socks, towel.
• *Ammo: 2,500 ball rounds for entry weapon, 300 rounds #00, #4 buckshot or slug.

*RSO personnel will be provided ammo.

NOTE: Tuition is due 10 days prior to start of class. If payment is not received, you will be dropped from the class. Cancellations made less than 10 days before the first day of class will result in loss of tuition.
