Force Encounters Analysis | 01/30/23-02/01/23
This 24-hour Force Encounters Analysis Course is a practical course based on unbiased force science evidence, pertaining to officer involved use of force (UOF). Subject matter covers the science of human dynamics in the midst of high stress encounters and will help bridge the latest academic research with the law enforcement environment. Among the topics covered:
- How perceptual distortions & stress-induced memory gaps impact accurate recall
- Scientific facts from force science speed studies & the truth regarding response time (How long it really takes to start – and – stop shooting.)
- How investigators can best “mine” officers’ memories during a post-incident interview
- Analyzing vital elements of controversial use of force that are often overlooked
- High adrenalin confrontations (continuing to fire after threat has ended)
- Reaction time of suspects launching an attack vs. officer’s response time, after processing the threat (before taking action).
