Regional Training Program
The Regional Training Program (RTP) is an innovative collaboration between Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Riverside County Fire/CAL FIRE, Riverside County Department of Public Health and Riverside County Office of Education. A team of seven members from these agencies work together to develop training and programming in a multi-disciplinary, all-hazard approach to Homeland Security.
Training
The RTP is dedicated to ensuring that Riverside County is ready and prepared to respond to an emergency or Homeland Security event. The RTP team has ahigh level of expertise that is beneficial in providing specialized classes to meet the training needs of the Riverside County Operational Area and surrounding counties.
A primary focus of the RTP is the coordination of training for first responders, county employees and the community in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). General courses and train-of-trainer courses for IS 100, IS 200, IS 300, IS 400 and IS 700 are held throughout the county. Please view the training calendar for more information.
RTP is also involved in establishing a Homeland Security Associate Degree and certificate program. The degree program will consist of six core courses and elective classes, in addition to offering specialized trainings to first responders and the community. Stay tuned for more information.
